I hope that all of you who were able to attend last Friday’s meeting enjoyed it as much as I did. I thought that there was much to enjoy about it. It was good to meet with our fellow Rotarians from Macquarie Park club. It was good to thank quite a few of those who helped both of our clubs to make last year’s Carols a great success. It was good to recall the event in a way which revived pleasant memories, and filled in gaps in our memories. As Victoria remarked, there is much that we miss when we are busy working hard, so the movie of the Carols allowed many of us to see things which we had missed. And, of course, there was the hot breakfast!
During the past week I was asked to authorise a change of name for the Rotaract Club which we sponsor, from the Rotaract Club of Macquarie University to the Rotaract Club of Macquarie Park. This will reflect their new independence from the University.
This morning we welcome Victoria Crawford as our “guest speaker”. You will recall that she and Ian recently travelled overseas, and she will speaking about that trip, in Germany and the UK. I am confident that we will all enjoy her presentation.
