A very interesting presentation by Annette Billington last week. Our members all lead such interesting lives. It was great to hear about how Astra Zeneca gave out their bonuses equally to everyone reinforcing that everyone’s input is equally valued. That’s how I see our work for Rotary. We all do different things and can have input at different times and for different projects. Working together we achieve a lot.
This week Ana Alves, our exchange student, will tell us more about herself and Brazil. I am sure she’ll give us some unique insights into her home.
On Saturday it is the District Conference at Panther’s Resort in Penrith. Pam Bennet has arranged for Ana to attend and transport there and back. Many thanks Pam.
The following week we won’t have a Friday meeting as we will transfer to the
Trivia Night at the Clive Austin Conference Centre, Royal Ryde Rehab. If you haven’t arranged a table yet please think about asking friends, neighbours, work colleagues along for a great night.
Bookings by next Monday 13 March would be appreciated. If you didn’t bring a bottle of wine, chocolates or some other delectable delight to Friday’s meeting to go into the prize pool, please let me know what you can donate and bring on the night. All the details about the trivia night are in the
attached flyer.
The results of the Carols are now available. ROMAC has received $10,000 from Johnson & Johnson and will get another $1,900.00 from the bucket collection. Our club will get a little over $4,000.00, the same as Macquarie Park. And of course we have the $1,000.00 donated by Ritchie’s IGA in Cox’s Rd. Please consider supporting them when you do your grocery shopping.
I have had to change the date of the Thank You breakfast to Friday 24 March so please mark it in your diary. DLC were booked out for the other date. Normally we would have a board meeting on this day but we will move that to 31 March. We will organise a hot breakfast at $20 per head.
The
Combined Services Dinner is on
Wednesday 29 March at7:00 pm Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club. $40 per head; drinks at own cost.
See attached flyer for more information. Please let me now if you are interested in attending so we can arrange the booking.
Don’t forget District is calling for exchange students for 2018. We’ll contact the local schools but if you know any young people in year 9 or 10 who may be interested then talk to Pam Bennett.
Hopefully you have been able to sell your raffle tickets and tickets and money have been returned today. If you don’t have them with you today please bring them to the trivia night.
