Welcome today to the District Governor, Peter Ward. He wants to learn about us but it is also an opportunity to hear about District plans and ask questions about Rotary projects.
Liane met the newest ROMAC patient, Jesuinha Dos Santos from Timor Leste. She is known as Sonia and is currently being assessed for open-heart surgery. If I managed the technology there should be a few photos with this bulletin.
Pam Wood and Garry are away for November and won’t be able to prepare the weekly bulletin. It is created through Club runner and is not too hard to do. It would be great if someone could take it in for the rest of the month. Please let me know if you are interested.
Don’t forget to go to
https://timebanking.com.au/home/Ryde to join up for Timebanking. I have joined and already put in a request to see if we can get some volunteers to help with the carols. For more information on Timebanking or any questions you may have, please contact Kate on 9888 3380.

Next year’s District Conference is on Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 March 2018 in Leura. For details go to – www.conference2018.rotarydistrict9685.org.au. Full registration $280. Accommodation extra. This should be a great conference and it is always great to get away together so think about whether you’d like to come along. Partners are always welcome and as a previous resident of Leura I’d encourage you to come and discover more about our wonderful Blue Mountains. Plus there are some great speakers including Dr Gill Hicks who survived the London underground bombing and Shane FitzSimmons from the Rural Fire Services. Early bird registration closes end of November.
At the Board meeting last week we decided how the money from the Fun Run should be distributed. While we didn’t make as much as previous years, $8.900.00 it still means $5,000.00 to Australian Rotary Health for research into youth mental health, $2,400 to Macquarie University Centre for Emotional Health to assist kids attend the Cool Kids program and $1,500.00 for RYLA and RYPEN students.
Next week we have a Club Assembly. I’d like to look at the results of the Club survey and how it links with our visioning exercise in early 2016.
Next Thursday, 9 November I am going to clean out the New Horizons lock up. If you can help that would be great. Let me know. I’ll be there at 9:00 am with vacuum cleaner and a dozen new storage boxes.
