Brian Powell gave a very interesting talk last week. As he said “low tech” but that didn’t affect the information and it gave us the opportunity to “spot” Brian. I managed all but the kindergarten photo. We can be very pleased that Julie joined Rotary as our first female member and introduced Brian to the Club. He has been a very committed member taking up several positions over the years, including President more than once, Secretary, Vocational and of course our current Treasurer.
This week we welcome Denise Torres from Ryde City Council to speak about waste management. This is a topic close to my heart as it seems our society produces more and more packaging and disposable goods. Hopefully today we learn more about how to dispose of it responsibly.

While David is away in Scotland and Pat in Port Douglas, it is great that Sandeep, Mak and Shankar are all back from their travels. I think Garry is still roaming the countryside training all and sundry. Unfortunately, Annette is not well and is in The San. We’ll keep her in our thoughts.
Attached is our appeal letter for the disaster in Haiti post Cyclone Matthew. Please forward to others as you see fit. We are grateful for your interest and support.
