Dear Club Members and Friends,

Our last formal meeting of the year was a low key event with the passing of the constitution and the by laws and the election of the board and office bearers for 2017 to 2018. It was great to see some of our more recent members join the board and volunteer to work on various committees.

This week we have our end of year party at Terrie's home. Bring what you wish to drink and everything else will be supplied. Of course you supply the fun, fellowship and good cheer.

By the time you read this the North Ryde Community Aid party will be over. I am sure it was a great success with Helen Crouch and Pat Perrin organising. Big thanks to Robert Chesney for returning as the barman.

Next week we have the Tree of Joy barbecue on Saturday 17th. We'll set up at 7:30 am and start cooking by 8:00 am. So if you have volunteered for the early shift it would be great if you could be there by around 7:30am. I'll contact everyone who volunteered to ensure we are well covered for the morning.

On Sunday 18th the big night of the year - the carols. Pam Wood has sent you all the volunteer registration form. Please fill it in. If you have any trouble with it let me know as I can arrange for Paul from Macquarie Park to enter the information. It would be really great if as many people as possible could help out.

Ray White Real Estate will be joining us for the Tree of Joy barbecue and the carols. They are raffling two bikes with the proceeds going to the carols. It is great to have them on board for these and other projects.

2017 Outgoing Exchange Student

Our outgoing exchange student for 2017 is Samantha Buick. Samantha received her Blazer and the Rotary Club of North Ryde Banner from Club Youth Chairperson Pam Bennett and President Victoria Crawford at our meeting on Friday 2 December. Samantha is going to Sweden for her exchange experience and we will look forward to hearing from her throughout the year.
