President's Message

Dear Club Members and Friends,

t was a very pleasant night last Friday at May's Pizzeria.  Only 10 of us but the food and fellowship were wonderful.

I don't know how the District Governor dinner went on Tuesday night as I am writing this before the dinner is over and I could not attend due to childminding obligations. However I am sure we were ably represented by David, Brian, Pam B and Barbara. Thank you very much for attending.

The Fun Run wrap up meeting brought all the feedback together and gave us a lot of good ideas.  We will now look at putting together a proposal to Macquarie University to extend the run into the main grounds.  If anyone would like to help me with this I'd really appreciate it.

We will have a thank you breakfast for our sponsors and helpers on 11 November. We do want them to realise that they are important to us and build on our relationships.  It will also be a great opportunity for Club members to meet some of them.

Our next Club Assembly is on 18 November when we can look at the possibilities for next year's fun run and other activities like the IT week and the Golf Day.  This is also an opportunity to bring forward any thoughts about what we do and how we do it so start thinking.

Another date in November is the Rotary Foundation Million Dollar Dinner at The Epping Club.  Cost is $75 per person or a table of 10 for $700.  Bookings and payment can be made at www.trybooking.com/mmrt.

Kevin Lance is out of hospital but still undergoing tests.  Barbara is keeping a watchful eye on him and will keep us informed.

We may not see David before he goes to Scotland on 17 October.  I know that all of us will be thinking of him and wish him and his brother the best.  David has been a great support to me during this year and does a fantastic job with the programme and setting the meetings up each week.  Terrie will be looking after it for us while he is away so please help her out in any way you can.

Our next meeting is 14 October when we will hear from Brian Powell about his life and times.  I have known Brian for over 30 years and even so I am sure there will be some interesting new aspects to his life I do not know.  Our members surprise me every time they speak about their lives as all have very interesting stories to tell.

Once again have a great week.

Best regards
Victoria Crawford
