I think Jim Towers blew us all away with his presentation. Royal Ryde Rehabilitation Hospital, now known as  Royal Rehab, has a long history of working with spinal and brain injury patients. He showed two very moving  short videos showing just how their work affects the individuals they care and work with. Jim also donated a book, Penguin Bloom, about how a young injured magpie called Penguin came into the lives of the Bloom family and helped in the recovery of the mother after a devastating accident. Royal Rehab of course had significant input to that recovery. Inspiring stories:inspiring organisation. 

 

The Fun Run is this Sunday. Everyone has a role to play and together we will have a fantastic day. Don't forget our social night this Friday (well working social night) as we pack the "goodie bags" at Terrie and Mark McConnell's home, 42B Forrest Rd Ryde. Park on the street and walk down the driveway. Partners are most welcome as we eat some delicious takeaway, drink the odd glass of something refreshing and amaze ourselves with the wonders going into the bags. Final tasks for everyone will be either given out on Friday night or emailed.

 

There is no Club meeting Friday morning but there will be a board meeting and then a few of us will meet at the Gladesville Kennards lockup to pick up everything we need for the fun run.
