Dear Club Members and Friends,

I hope you have had a lovely Easter break with family and friends. I am sorry I didn’t produce a Pres Piece last week and so suggested to Pam that we not produce a bulletin. I was snowed under with grandchildren, some commitments at Pearl Beach and my mum.

This week is a Club Assembly. It will be my last Club meeting until mid June as Ian and I go away on 1 May for five weeks. At the Assembly I want to look at what we are doing with the results of the visioning exercise and all our projects and see if we have members who can participate and therefore if we have the capacity to deliver. That will be a busy hour!

Liane and I went to the LIndfield Rotary Club fun run starting at Roseville Oval. We got quite a few good ideas.

You may have received a letter from the Rotary Foundation addressed to someone else but at your address. They have sent an email apologising as it was a clerical error. They said we could open the letter as there was no privacy issue. I sent mine back “person unknown at this address” so I am not sure what the content was but I think it was a request to be a benefactor.

The Board meeting will be on Friday 28 April and a social night to the Ironwood Coffee Company Woolwich. I hope you can join us.

Guest Speaker Helen Crouch's presentation about North Ryde Community Aide

On Friday 7 April, guest speaker Helen Crouch presented an overview of the work of North Ryde Community Aide and the changes to Aged Care at our Club meeting. Helen also explained how volunteers can give their time to assist in the great work provided to the community by North Ryde Community Aide.

New Member Mandy Van's Induction

The Rotary Club of North Ryde President, Victoria Crawford inducted new member Mandy Van at a Club meeting on Friday 7 April. Welcome Mandy!

2016 Carols Sponsors' Thank You Breakfast

On Friday 24 March, the Rotary Clubs of North Ryde and Macquarie Park held a Thank You Breakfast for the Sponsors of the 2016 Carols on The Common. Rob Wilkinson thanked the Sponsors on behalf of ROMAC. Carols Coordinator Roseanna Gallo from Macquarie Park and North Ryde President Victoria Crawford also expressed their thanks on behalf of both Clubs. For more photos see here.

Cyclone Debbie Appeal

On March 28, Cyclone Debbie a category 4 cyclone devastated areas from Bowen South to Mackay region, these communities which are located in Rotary D9550 and Rotary D9570 need assistance.

On behalf of DG Craig from D9570 and I, we have set up an appeal to assist those in need following the aftermath of the cyclone. Please see below details below with links to the RAWCS website for clubs or individuals wanting to make tax deductible donations. If you could distribute through to your clubs and your contacts, this would be greatly appreciated.
