This month I went on the Finland Euro tour. It was amazing! We went to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. My favourite city was probably Prague in the Czech Republic. It was an amazing and very pretty city with a beautiful old town. I wish we had spent more time in Slovakia, as we only drove through it. If we had stayed somewhere in the countryside, which was massive green hills and rocky cliffs dotted with ruined castles, that probably would have been my favourite place. I also went to meet my new host grandparents that live about 6 hours north in a town called Nykarleby. They were lovely people. My mother’s parents didn’t speak any English so it definitely put my Swedish to the test. Because a lot of the oldies are leaving this month I’ve been hanging out with them a lot. It’s been really fun and I’ve really enjoyed the contact. We’ve gone to the beach, gone shopping, and done heaps of other fun stuff together. Because of Euro tour I haven’t had a lot of time to practice my Swedish. Talking to my grandparents was a big step forward though. I went with my family up to meet my grandparents. We also had midsummer celebrations, which was ironic, because it was 9 degrees. For more photos of Josh's Exchange trip this month see photo albums. |
