Dear Club Members and Friends,
I believe the social club dinner on Friday evening at Nobel Terrace Chinese Restaurant was enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to David Martin for organising the evening and also to Mandy Van for the great photos I have included in this bulletin. I am sorry we missed it, but hope to get to the next one in May.
Our next club meeting is this Friday 3 May at 7.15a.m.at Dunmore Lang College. We are looking forward to our meeting on Friday where we will induct new member, Peter Mason. Our guest speaker, Jacqui Jones will be discussing youth mental health and greatfulness. This is very topical, as we continue our planning for the 2019 North Ryde Fun Run for Youth Mental Health on 25 August.
The second meeting with the University representatives for the Fun Run will be held at Robert Menzies College at 9.30a.m. on Friday following the club meeting.
The Board met on Tuesday evening this week. We discussed the disbursement of funds for this Rotary year and the Annual Celebration Changeover Dinner which will be held on Friday 28 June at Basil's Seafood Restaurant Marsfield.
As a result of the successful fundraising held over the past year we are able to continue our annual giving to a similar level of previous years. We also discussed and agreed to joining with Macquarie Park Rotary Club to contribute towards the installation of a variable height ramp that is much needed at Riding for the Disabled at Marsfield.
Planning for the Country Students IT Visit commencing 26 May is well underway. Thank you to everyone who have offered to host the students and assist with transport and supervising during the week. Thank you to Terrie McConnell who is organising the participating students with the Country Rotary Clubs and Schools, we have four confirmed and hope to have the remaining 4 students confirmed within the next week.
We are still trying to finalise the company visits as a number of IT companies have not been able to assist us this year. If you know of a company that may be open to providing a visit for the students during that week please let David Martin mobile 0414642948 or Garry Maloney mobile 0426230458 know as soon as possible.
