President's Message

Dear  Club Members and Friends,
 
My apologies for the delay in the bulletin This past week was a difficult week for me and I was unable to complete the bulletin in time for Friday's deadline. My thanks to Brian Powell for again stepping up to chair the club meeting on Friday 17 May. Our guest speaker was Ron Marton from  Riding for the Disabled (NSW) at Marsfield. We look forward to connecting with Ron again at the dinner for the students from Country NSW who have participated in the IT company visits this week.
 
Due to a last minute withdrawal we have hosted 4 students this week and we hope they gain great insight and inspiration from their visit to Sydney. Our thanks go out to the many companies, Macquarie University and UTS who have agreed to provide tours for the students. Thanks also to David Martin and all the members and friends who have hosted, supervised and transported the students throughout the week. We look forward to hearing their feedback on Thursday evening at the dinner.
 
Don't forget the 2019 Annual Celebration Dinner for our club will be held on Friday 28 June at Basil's Seafood Restaurant Marsfield see invitation here. There is no club meeting this week. The Board will meet on Friday morning 31 May at Dunmore Lang College from 7.15a.m. The next meeting for the North Ryde Fun Run Club committee is next Tuesday 4 June at 93 Park Road Hunters Hill commencing 7.30p.m.

Call for MUNA 2019 Volunteers

Firstly thank you for sponsoring one or more MUNA teams for 2019.
 
As you are aware MUNA requires volunteers over the weekend to make it a smooth and successful operation.

Rotaract Club Macquarie - Ryde Update

I received this email from Carla Rank regarding the results of the AGM for the Rotaract Club of Macquarie Ryde. We wish all the outgoing members of the Rotaract club of Macquarie- Ryde all the very best for the future. We look forward to working with those who are interested in reviving the club at Macquarie University and hope they have a great response from the  University students in their endeavour to start the new Rotaract club.

 

Dear Friends of Rotaract 

It is with regret we inform you of the closure of the Rotaract Club of Macquarie-Ryde. However, this is not necessarily the end of a Rotaract Club in the Macquarie area.

Unfortunately, Secretary - Lachlan Hutchinson; Treasurer- Ricky Leong; Vice President - Steph Long; and myself, are unable to continue on as the board for the coming year. Accordingly a vote was proposed a passed unanimously at our meeting on 14/5/19 to close the Rotaract Club of Macquarie-Ryde. 

At this meeting there were 4 individuals who voiced interest in reviving a club at Macquarie University. The existing board offered ongoing support and guidance to these 4 in their endeavours to revive a new club.
