Again, it has been a busy couple of weeks with having to relocate what we had in storage at Kennards Gladesville to the North Ryde RSL Club.
I received a call from Kennards a few weeks back telling me that Kennards, nationally, were no longer donating storage units to charities. We would have to pay Kennards to retain our storage unit, which we have had since 2014 or move out by the end of March.
I would like to thank Roseanna Gallo OAM, Co-President of the Rotary Club of Macquarie Park, who put me in contact with her brother Les, who is the Maintenance Manager at North Ryde RSL Club, to ask if they had a storage area that we could use. North Ryde and Macquarie Park Rotary Clubs were sharing the storage unit at Kennards. With the help of Joe Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of the RSL Club, Les found an area in the club’s undercover car park that he thought would suit us, and it did.
Roseanna then put me in contact with Andrew Hill from the Tennis Hall at Marsfield. Andrew was having to move out of the premises that he was in and had a metal shelving unit he thought may be of use to us. Rob Wilkinson organised a trailer and Rob, Andrew and I moved the shelving from Marsfield to North Ryde RSL Club on Saturday 8 March.
On Sunday 9 March Craig Blissett, from Macquarie Park Club, Rob and I installed the shelving at North Ryde RSL. On Friday 14 March Ross Rocca, Louis Jacquot (both with vans), Heather Knox, Arthur Murgatroyd all from Macquarie Park Club, Rob Wilkinson (with trailer) and I moved everything out of our Kennards unit to the North Ryde RSL Club.
Thank you to everyone for your time and making this move so easy.
At our club meeting on the morning of Friday 14 March we had the pleasure of having Sue O’Neill OAM as our guest speaker. Sue told us about the wonderful work that Sue, her family Foundation and Rotary were doing in setting up a school in Uganda.
We are looking forward to our District Conference this coming Friday and Saturday, 21-22 March at the Pullman Sydney in Penrith. There is no club meeting this week.
Please keep in mind our
2025 eFun Run for Youth Mental Health which runs (pun intended) from

Also, or next Bunnings BBQ, now on Saturday 26 April, (changed from the 12 April), will be used as a fundraising event for ROMAC (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children). We all need something from Bunnings so please come along that day and grab a sausage.
