I am looking forward to our Club's Annual Changeover Dinner tomorrow night. It is a great opportunity to celebrate all our achievements over the past 12 months and to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year. We have over 80 guests attending the changeover dinner which is fantastic!
We will be presenting donations to
local community organisations and to
ROMAC at the dinner. We will also be presenting special awards to deserving members of our community.

It has been an incredible privilege to be President of such a dynamic and hardworking Rotary club! I would like to thank all of our Club members and especially the Club Board members for their hard work and wonderful support over the last 12 months.
I have learnt a great deal about Rotary, our community and my fellow Rotarians over the past year. It has been challenging to take on the role of President after joining Rotary four years earlier. But the experience has been very rewarding and satisfying.
I would particularly like to acknowledge and thank Pat Perrin, Liane Corbett and Terrie McConnell who will be stepping down as Board members. They have all contributed so much to our club and have helped in so many ways at various activities as Board members over the years.
The 2019-20 Board will be:
President Mak Khalil
President-elect Mandy Van
Secretary Mandy Van
Treasurer Sandeep Rathi
Directors:
Brian Powell
Victoria Crawford
Garry Maloney
David Martin
I will also continue on the Board as immediate Past President and look forward to working with the new Board. As always any member is welcome to attend Board meetings which are held on the fourth Friday of the month at Dunmore Lang College 7.15a.m. - 8.30a.m. David Martin has agreed to take on the Director's role that was vacated with Asim moving to Singapore.
I would also like to thank those members who are leaving the club at the end of this Rotary year - Asim Khwaja and Nadia Al Adawy, Liane Corbett, Terrie McConnell, Shankar Sankaran and Johnny Ha. These members have contributed an enormous amount to the Club throughout the years they have been with us. We will miss them greatly and wish them all the best in the future. We will be starting the next Rotary year with 19 members and one honorary member.
We met with the University representatives for the
Fun Run last Friday morning.
The two seminars on youth mental health have been organised by
Nicholle McNiece from the
Centre for Emotional Health. The first seminar will be held on
Monday 17 July from
6-7p.m. Dr Carolyn Schniering will present the seminar on
Dealing with academic procrastination in youth. For more information see here or the
separate article in this bulletin.
The second seminar will be held on Wednesday 14 August at the Hearing Hub. More information will be provided soon. Our club organises the catering and registrations at the seminars and we provide an overview of the Fun Run. We will be seeking volunteers for the seminars and the Fun Run early next month.
Garry and I attended the Rotary Club of Ryde's 74th Changeover on Sunday at Carlingford. It was a very enjoyable event and great to hear the achievements of the biggest Rotary Club in the Riverside group. Congratulations to President Bob Kaye-Smith and his fantastic team on a very successful Rotary year! We will be attending the Changeover celebrations for Macquarie Park on Friday 5 July and the District Changeover on Saturday 6 July.
Garry and I also attended the 40th Anniversary celebration for John Booth and The Weekly Times (TWT). John has been a great supporter of the Riverside Rotary Clubs and we congratulate him on all his achievements.
