I certainly hope we are all staying safe and well within our own confines for this extended shutdown time, as this letter comes from the North Ryde COVID bunker! If we all do our bit, the sooner we will all be able to get back to a better life.
We had a lighthearted talk last Friday morning, by Bob Aitken AM from Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains titled ‘From Typewriter to Twitter’ and his experiences over the years in the journalism business. Thank you, Rob for arranging this.
Bernie and I have delivered the last couple of cheques from our fund-raising efforts last year, to the local primary schools. North Ryde Public School and Holy Spirit Catholic School were both very appreciative of the donations.
Our Rotary friends from Chatswood Sunrise Club Bob and Brian, wish to be inducted together when Brian returns from an exciting Queensland holiday around September. We may ask Brian to regale us with stories from his trip upon his return.
Our Rotary Club has been recognized in the ‘Club Giving Award’ in the District Governor’s newsletter
see below. Well done everyone.
At this stage, our Changeover dinner booked for the 23 July 2021 at Basil’s Restaurant, Delhi Road at North Ryde has had to be postponed due to COVID lockdown. The new date for the Change-over dinner will be advised when we are able to get together again. Remember, we will need to keep our fingers and toes crossed.
There will be no meeting this Friday morning and we can all have a little sleep-in.
Our Rotary DG – Lindsay May – is due to visit us on 30 July 2021. This will now be via a Zoom meeting (due to no face to face get togethers).
Please be reminded to complete and return the Member Survey, to help guide us through the next year and beyond.
