President's Message

Dear  Club Members and Friends,

I hope everyone had a happy and relaxing Easter break. There is no club meeting this Friday 26 April. The Board meeting has been organised for next Tuesday 30 April at 93 Park Road Hunters Hill commencing 7.30p.m.

The next club meeting will be Friday 3 May at 7.15a.m.at Dunmore Lang College. We are looking forward to our guest speaker, and also will be inducting new member Peter Mason into our club and the Rotary family.

Today I attended the Anzac Dawn Service at North Ryde RSL along with Mandy Van,  Rob and Carolin Wilkinson and members of the Macquarie Park Rotary Club. Trina Phillips, President of the Rotary Club of Macquarie Park organised a beautiful wreath from both clubs. Thank you to Len Gallo for providing the lovely yellow and purple  wreath that we were able to lay at the cenotaph as part of the ceremony.

David Martin is organising the social dinner for this Friday evening at Noble Terrace Chinese restaurant in Coxs Road Mall.  The food is always good and owners and staff always very welcoming. Unfortunately, Garry and I wont be able to attend, but we wish all this e going a wonderful evening.

A reminder that the Rotary Club of Ryde is having their Trivia night on Saturday 4 May. Pease contact David if you would like to be part of a table from North Ryde Rotary Club.

Kind regards
Pam Wood
President 2018-19

District 9685 Assembly Sunday 15 April 2019
Rotary District 9685 District Assembly

District 9685 District Assembly was held on Sunday 14 April 2019 at the University of Western Sydney College, Nirimba Campus, Quakers Hills, from 9:00am to 3:30pm.

Pam Bennett, Mandy Van and myself represented our club.

The purpose of the Assembly is to prepare the incoming ‘Directors’ or ‘Avenue of Service Chairs’ with a guide to their role within their club.

The Assembly started with various presentations to the whole group, in the main auditorium.  After morning tea we were broken up into zone clusters, approximately 6 clubs per zone. Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Admin Directors stayed in the main auditorium and the ‘Avenue of Service’ people, for each zone, went to 5 different lecture rooms. Then a team of ‘Project Directors’ and ‘Service Chairs’, for the district, spoke for 15 to 20 minutes on their particular ‘Area of Service’ to each group, and then moved onto the next group. The 15 to 20 minutes presentation was to give an overview of each ‘Avenue of Service’.
