President's Message

Dear  Club Members and Friends,

President Mak sends his best wishes to you all and his congratulations to everyone who helped on the Fun Run. He will be away for another two weeks and should be back with us in time for the Fun Run Thank You Breakfast which will be held on Friday 20 September at Dunmore Lang College. This will be an opportunity to thank our sponsors and supporters. We will also present cheques from the proceeds to Terry Davies representing Australian Rotary Health and a representative from the Centre for Emotional Health. We are waiting for all income and expenses to be finalised and will then have a final figure for our fundraiser.

The breakfast commences 7.00 for 7.15a.m. start and the cost for non-sponsors will be $20 for a hot breakfast. Please let David Martin or me, mobile 0400803417 or email woodmal50@hotmail.com know if you will be attending by Friday 13 September. David will be on holidays for the next two weeks but is contactable on his email or mobile 0414642948.

Congratulations to all the race winners and prize /raffle winners. Most of the raffle and auction prizes have now been distributed. Explore and Develop Epping Road are the winners of the school/pre-school cash prize of $500. They had 27 entries for the Fun Run. We hope to present the cheque to them at the Thank You breakfast if possible.

I still have more photos to download and add to our bulletin and website photo albums. I hope to do over the next week. Thank you to Bernie Mason for being our event photographer

The Board met last Friday, but unfortunately I was unable to attend. Mandy was able to chair the meeting and it is great to have her back from her Trek. Hopefully there will be enough time at the club meeting this week to hear a little about her adventure and an update from the Board.

Our guest speaker this week will be PDG John Wakefield OAM who will talk to us about his experiences in the Police Force as well as little about his Rotary journey. We will also have Warren from RDA join us for breakfast to update us on the progress of the special ramp that our club contributed towards.

A reminder that the Eastwood-Gladesville Rotary Club Trivia Night is on Saturday 14 September. Eastwood-Gladesville Club members helped us as marshalls at the Fun Run so hopefully our club can reciprocate by having a table or two at the Trivia night. More information is in this bulletin.

Our Club is on the Local Matters jars for September at Grill'd Macquarie Centre. We will be organising our social night for Friday 27 September at Grill'd so keep this night free and come along to support one of our Fun Run sponsors.

Club member Annette Billington has been quite unwell and will be on leave from the club for a month or so. We will miss Annette from the meetings and hope she recovers very soon.

Kind regards
Pam Wood
Past President 2018-19

Windsor Rotary and the Prostrate Cancer Foundation

Dear Fellow Rotarian,

Prostate cancer kills more men each year than breast cancer kills women. But prostate cancer just doesn’t have the high profile that other cancers do so it’s sadly lacking in donated funds.

Last year, 4 Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Windsor decided to do something about that and participated in the inaugural Outback 4WD Adventure – raising close to $25000 in the lead up to that event.

Well, we went so well last year that we’ve decided to enter again.

But, we need to raise some money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation to make our participation worthwhile.

If you are able to help us in our fundraising effort, please click on the link below and go to our donations page.
