President's Message

Dear  Club Members and Friends,
It was a pleasure to induct new member, Peter Mason into our club at last Friday's breakfast meeting. Peter and Bernie have already joined in many of our fundraising and social activities this year and we look forward to continuing to work with them on our projects and in fellowship.
Our guest speaker was Jacqui Jones who spoke to us about her program Greatfulness which focuses on Youth Mental Health that she has presented in a number of local primary schools.  It was a very interesting and thought provoking presentation. Jacqui is seeking sponsorship for the program to be run in schools that have not yet been able to access the program. This will be something we will discuss further at our next Board meeting if members are in agreement to consider her proposal.
The Annual Changeover Celebration Dinner for our club will be held at Basil's Seafood Restaurant on Friday 28 June. The cost will be $50 per person for a two course meal with glass of wine. I have included booking details in this bulletin and see here for the flyer.
We met with the Centre for Emotional Health and University College Representatives following our breakfast meeting to continue planning for the 2019 North Ryde Fun Run. We are hoping to have our website and registrations ready by the end of this month. We are also seeking further sponsorship for the Fun Run. For more information see the sponsorship package here. The next RCNR Fun Run Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday 14 May at 7.30p.m. at  93 Park Road Hunters Hill. All members are welcome to attend.
This Friday's meeting will be a club assembly where we will discuss the plans and organisation for the Country Students IT Visits (DIGIT) during the week commencing 26 May.
I have also attached notes compiled by PDG John Dodd taken during the recent District 9685 workshop regarding the new District proposal. A vote whether the District 9685 will continue to work towards a larger Sydney District or Not will be taken at the President's meeting to be held this Saturday 11 May at Hornsby RSL which I hope to attend.
Kind regards
Pam Wood
