Pam and Garry are away for a week or two. First to Sawtell and then further north. I hope they are having a great holiday and rest after all the work they did for the Fun Run. A ibg thank you from all of us.
Last week we had a board meeting in the morning and a great dinner in the evening. At the board meeting we decided on some coming events and I thought I might give you a heads up. Hopefully Rado, our new member, will officially join us on 21 September. Our next social night will be on 28 September at Essence of North India on Wick’s Rd. We will hold a Thankyou Breakfast for our Fun Run sponsors on 9 November and don’t forget the Club End of Year Party on 30 November. The Christmas Party for the elderly clients of North Ryse Community Aid is probably Thursday 6 December – we’ll confirm that soon. On Saturday 15 December we will have our traditional bbq at Coxs Rd for the end of the Tree of Joy and the Christmas Carols will be on Sunday 16 December.
Don’t forget the DG’s visit on 2 November.
We also discussed a few dates for next year. Firstly, a trivia night on 23 February and as we have collected a lot of books we will discuss with North Ryde Primary School if we could run a book sale in conjunction with the state election on Saturday 23 March.
Dinner at Kasalong Thai Restaurant in Coxs Rd was great fellowship although some of the service was a little slow. Maggie and Mike came as well as the next host family for Helmina. It was lovely to meet them and look forward to them joining us for other events.
There are two events coming up in the next week. The carols committee meets on 12 September at 7:30 pm. While I will attend. We need some other volunteers to help with the planning. On Saturday night 15 September Eastwood-Gladesville Rotary Club has its Trivi Night. There has been a venue change. It will at the Shepherds Bay Community Centre, 3a Bay Drive Meadowbank. It would be great if we could get a team together.
