Last Friday, the club assembly was held in person at Dunmore Lang College. A big thank you to Peter and Bernie for stepping in while I was away, and running the meeting.
The next Bunnings BBQ will be held on Saturday 3 December. As usual, we need volunteers throughout the day to help. Our busiest time during the day is from 10 am to 2 pm, so if you can help for a few hours only, please keep this in mind. Please let Garry know of your availability as soon as you can.
The club’s 2022 Christmas Party will be held at the North Ryde Golf Club (NRGC) on Friday 9 December 2022. The function will be held in the Gardenia Room of NRGC from 7:15pm, following the club's Annual General Meeting. All of you would have received an email invitation from Garry Maloney. A reminder to please let him know by Friday 25 November if you will be able to attend and the number attending.
The first meeting of the North Ryde eFun Run committee was held today. We worked through the structured approach suggested by Pam Wood to progress with this fundraising activity. With an early start to planning, we hope to have a successful event next year. Help will be needed from all members to improve marketing and increase participation.
This Saturday, 26 November, I will be attending District 9685’s AGM & Presidents Meeting which will be held in person at St Joseph's Conference Centre in Norwest. On agenda is the adoption of 2021-22 Financial Report and the election of District Governor Nominee 2025-26. There will also be the normal update that takes place at the Presidents Meeting. It will be good to meet Rotarians from other clubs in person.
Preparations for the 2022 Rotary Carols on the Common are in full swing. We will be returning to the Common after 2 years and it will be great to have a community event which is enjoyed by everyone. We are hoping for good weather and a large crowd on Sunday 18 December 2022. If you haven’t already, please let Bernie know if you can help on the day.
November is Rotary Foundation Month – when we, as people of action, celebrate our numerous projects doing good in our own communities and “Doing Good in the World”. It is seeing the difference we are making in communities at home and overseas that should make all of us proud to be a Rotarian and actively support The Rotary Foundation as a “Charity of Choice”. Please consider becoming a Centurion by contributing A$100 (tax deductible) into the Australian Rotary Trust Fund.
I thank everyone in the Club for their commitment, energy and contribution towards making a difference.
