Here's an update on the North Ryde Fun Run Project, which is progressing according to plan:
- The Branding Design competition has closed with 3 eligible entries currently being judged. We will announce the winner after 4 April.
- Our FaceBook page has 61 likes! See https://www.facebook.com/northrydefunrun.
- We have received $1250 into the bank in sponsorship, thanks to Pat Perrin. There are pledges for more so we are off to a good start.
- We have recruited three current Macquarie University students to internships on our project, and two graduates. They are:

- We plan to run a series of monthly awareness seminars for potential sponsors, school and community members on youth emotional health (the term we have adopted instead of youth mental health).
- Professor Ron Rapee from the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University has talked to the Organising Committee about the research and treatment programs at the Centre, which are all very impressive. A collaboration agreement is in progress between us.
- We have workshopped the Fun Run Event structure and have an Operational Plan which we are working to.
- We now have Emma Lawson from Macquarie University Rotaract on the Organising Committee, along with Mike Hetherington as our Treasurer.
Next steps are to:
- Develop a Marketing Plan with our marketing and PR strategy outlined next, with the help of our Marketing & Sponsorship Team
- Create the format, content and schedule for the Youth Emotional Health Awareness Seminars.
- Further develop our Operational Plan, with the help of our Operations Team.
- Write the requirements for a fully functional website with the ability to enter the Fun Run and pay online, with the help of Sara Faisal.
Lots to do but we are progressing well!
