Dear Rotary Club of North Ryde,

I hope this email finds you and your Rotary members well in this different season we find ourselves in.

As much valued supporters of the Salvation Army and the Red Shield Appeal, I wanted give you an update and let you know about what is happening with the Appeal this year.

With the current COVID-19 situation we will not be able to knock on doors and collect in the community as we have in previous years. Activities like the Trivia Night and Golf Day will not be running during May but hopefully we will be able to run them at a later time.

We might not be able to knock on doors or collect in shopping centres and on sporting fields as we have in previous years but we are all able to take part in the ‘Digital Doorknock’ which is happening for 2020.

We kindly ask that your group would consider ‘joining the team’ supporting the Ryde Salvos in the ‘Digital Doorknock’. It is really easy to get involved.
Just head to https://digitaldoorknock.salvationarmy.org.au/t/r-salvos and start a fundraiser. You will see fundraising has already begun by both individuals, Businesses and Community Groups. I have attached the instructions to this email.

Please consider sharing this link among your members, friends, workmates, Facebook friends, posting it in community newsletters and on digital noticeboards. Remember to share the Ryde Salvos page. This will ensure most of the funds collected will stay locally for us to serve the local community through the year.
(The Ryde Salvos Area covers from Epping through to Hunters Hill/Gladesville and down through Eastwood, West Ryde to Meadowbank and Putney)

In these unprecedented times, we are as always at work, supporting those who need assistance. Thank you again for your generosity and how you have supported us so we in turn can support the community. We hope you will partner with us again this year, in this new way for Red Shield 2020.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Kind regards
Nicky Dodds
